Transfer Latest: - Kaka to the Prem?
THE FORMER world player of the year is rumoured to be unsettled at Real Madrid and this has attracted the interest of major Premier League clubs.
The Brazilian cost £60million when he transferred from AC Milian to the Spanish giants, since then he has struggled with fitness and found it difficult to feature in manager Jose Mourinho’s starting eleven with the likes of Mesut Ozil and Angel Di Maria featuring in midfield.
Van-Tastic
THE BATTLE for fourth place has been decided, now the battle for fifth looks over as Tottenham get the points over Liverpool at Anfield yesterday.
Liverpool fans hoped to mark the appointment of permanent manager Kenny Dalglish by clinching the fifth Premier League spot and getting the three points on Sunday. The party was spoiled by a strong Tottenham side with an eye for goal and an on form Rafael Van der Vaart.
Harry Redknapp’s side commanded the first half with quick passing football and intelligent moves from midfield from the likes of Croatian wizard Luka Modric. Modric’s pace and vision had supplied the ammunition to the majority of Tottenham’s first half attacks, with balls finding Aaron Lennon on the wing and Peter Crouch to good effect.
Wembley Winners
MANCHESTER CITY finally ended 35 years of hurt by lifting the FA Cup at Wembley stadium yesterday.
Yaya Toure leathered home the only goal of the game to see off Stoke City. The late goal came in the 74th minute after an end to end cup final, Man City were the better team and created vital chances, taking the game to Stoke.
Roberto Mancini’s team started the brighter side and kept the ball, using the width of the pitch to good effect. The first half saw Man City come close, Mario Balotelli’s effort was saved and later Carlos Tevez’s effort was palmed away by a determined Tomas Sorenson. The Danish keeper was a busy man in the first 45 minutes and did well to keep his side in the game after David Silva missed a clear cut opportunity before half time. Stoke City did not seem to come out and spent too much of the game containing the opposition rather than forcing them on the back foot.

End of the season entertainers.
As the end of the season fast approaches, I have taken time out to solute my personal players of the season from the Premier league and the football league.
This season has maintained the high reputation of English football and has been one of the closest and most entertaining seasons for quite a while. As a result, there are many contenders for player of the season.
This season has maintained the high reputation of English football and has been one of the closest and most entertaining seasons for quite a while. As a result, there are many contenders for player of the season.
Starting at the Npower League 2, there have been a number of stand out performers with the likes of Clayton Donaldson (Crewe) and Craig Davies (Chesterfield) hitting over 20 goals this season. However, my player of the season has to be Ryan Lowe; the Bury forward has been inspirational for the Shakers this season and scored 27 goals. Lowe’s contribution has been a rocket projection for his side and has seen Bury finally gain league 1 status after a spell of ten years in the fourth tier. Lowe, 32, beats Gillingham’s Cody McDonald to my player of the season prize, though McDonald is a close runner up and at the age of 24 is definitely a prospect for the future.
